Hello, I'm Dr. Erman Aytaç. I was born in Tekirdağ in 1982. I completed my primary and secondary education in my hometown Saray. I continued my education at Kabataş Boys' High School and started my medical education by entering Cerrahpaşa Faculty of Medicine in 2000. After my undergraduate education, I continued my specialization in General Surgery at the same faculty and became a General Surgery Specialist in 2011.
After my specialist training, I went to the United States to do my Clinical Specialization and focused on Digestive System Diseases. I returned to Turkey in 2016 and since then I have been working as a faculty member at Acıbadem University, Department of General Surgery. Additionally, I have been serving as General Surgery Clinic Manager at Acıbadem University Atakent Hospital since 2020.
My academic interests include Digestive System Diseases and Abdominal Surgery. In this field, I am interested in the surgical treatment of both benign and malignant diseases. I particularly work on laparoscopic surgery, robotic surgery and complex abdominal surgery.
Laparoscopic and robotic surgery are minimally invasive surgeries performed through small holes without cutting the abdomen and inflating the inside with gas. Complex abdominal surgery includes surgical treatments especially for recurrent abdominal cancers, intra-abdominal hot chemotherapy and bowel diseases.
My academic studies continue in parallel with my professional interests. I cooperate with many universities at home and abroad. In addition, I take part as a speaker in courses and congresses organized by relevant associations and universities and contribute as an educator. I serve on the Board of Directors of the European Colorectal Diseases Association. This association is an important institution that sets global standards for large intestine diseases. I also serve on the communications committee.
I continue my professional activities on this axis and strive to constantly improve myself and provide a better service to my patients. I aim to share my knowledge and experience with my young colleagues and patients who want to advance in the field of medicine.
