Education Abroad: Should Pre- or Post-Specialization Be Preferred?

The most important factor when planning an education abroad is where you want to be in the future. If your goal is to live abroad, it may make sense to start your career abroad after completing your undergraduate education, that is, after medical school. This accelerates your career building process abroad and allows you to gain a global perspective.

However, if you want to improve yourself in the professional field, have a vision, and plan to return to your country in the long term, it may be more appropriate to choose post-specialization. By completing your specialist training in Turkey, you will learn the pros, cons and required features of the healthcare system in our country. With this knowledge and experience, you can continue your education abroad, gain a global vision, and at the same time, place your plans to return to your country on a more solid foundation.

We frequently receive questions from Faculty of Medicine students on this subject, and we try to answer these questions together with our other professors. If you have any questions, you can reach me via message or comment on my social media accounts.
